Cape Foxes (2) (Vulpes chama)

Picture of this lovely family taken on an early morning near Kgalagadi tented camp. They prefer milk from their mother instead.
The Cape Fox is a small fox with large pointed ears and a bushy tail. Its mainly nocturnal and generally lives solitary.
Length: 85-100cm (incl. tail)
Mass: 2.5- 4 kg.
Food: mice and insects, small mammals, eggs, reptiles, carrion, fruit and green grass.
Habitat: open grassland, in the drier parts of southern Africa
